The ancient Chinese architecture and furniture featured wooden parts fixed by mortise-tenon joints in a stable structure. Based on the study of traditional mortise-tenon construction and bionic structure of human joints, a free turning spherical mortise-tenon structure has been created. The sphere centrally or axially rotates for the central of the components of the spherical mortise-tenon structure is relatively fixed. Coring in this structure, the interactive sculpture Mobile Mirror applies four spherical mortise-tenon structures in the Z-axis and the center of the mirror to allow free motion of the double-sided mirror.
